Yeah, it seems like it wouldn't close very well, and thus not last as long...

How interesting. Here in Australia, milk comes in bottles and cartons. We have all sorts of types of milks. Skim, 1%, Low Fat, Regular and UHT are the main types. UHT can be stored in the cupboard until you need it then you put it in the fridge. Sizes range from 600mls to 2ltrs

Here in the states, it's mainly bottles and cartons too, but in the old pints, quarts, etc. And UHT never caught on, for some reason...
