Harry Potter's latest

I'm very late tonight, but that's because we went with friends to a late showing of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.  It was a fine movie, but I'm not a big Harry Potter fan so I don't have much invested in it (never read the books, for example).  There wasn't any mystifying unexplained bits like the last movie (phantom stag, anyone?), but I didn't mind those parts of the last movie because magic should has some mysterious parts...

that was one of them problems with the third Harry Potter movie they cut out all the back story with James, Lupin, Peter, and Sirius that explained how becasue Lupin was a were wolf and becasue all of them were friends when Lupin would change when he was a student at the school the other three would sneek down to the Shreaking Shack and when Lupin would turn into a were wolf the others learned how to turn into other animals. James was the Stag, Sirius was the dog and Peter turned into a rat. The reason the Shreaking Shack was knowen as the most haunted place in all of London was becasue of Lupin turning into the were wolf and all the sounds that would come from it while he was the wolf. Also the reason Lupin knew how to use the Marauder's Map was that he was one of the four people to write it. Moony (Lupin-Were Wolf), Wormtail (Peter-Rat), Padfoot (Sirius-dog), and Prongs (James-Stag). That is the reason the Phantom Stag was confusing for you in the last movie. The fourth Potter book was so diffrent then the other three and even though they cut alot from the film but with them just worring about the Triwizard cup and the return of He Who must not be named the movie worked alot better had they tryed to deal with all the back stories that even though they would have been cool to see they really weren't needed.

Thanks! I actually do know all this now (found it out shortly after the movie, in Entertainment Weekly I think...)

I see someone has already explained the 'phantom stag' for you, but that was my major issue with movie three. That backstory is amazing, and without it there are parts of the movie that make very little sense.

I'm going to see movie four Sunday. The anticipation is killing me!

I went with some people who had read the books, and they enjoyed the movie too. Some said it was the best movie so far...
