Monsters vs. Aliens

On Sunday, my my brother and sister-in-law and the nieces came into town to see a movie*, so we went and saw Monsters vs Aliens with them (in IMAX 3D!). It's not a bad little movie, certainly watchable and enjoyable, but it never becomes more than that. The best thing is the 50-foot viewpoint character Susan/Ginormica, but her "girl power" storyline feels warmed over.

*If you are thinking that's how we saw our last movie too, you are right! That's how we go to movies now -- we let my nieces pick 'em...
