In the evening, Beth and I went to the drive in! it's almost 100% certain that the Cinderella Twin Drive-In will be torn down this winter, so we figured we better go catch a late-season triple feature..
First up was Rush Hour 3. We were a little late for the beginning, but that was OK because this is the movie we cared least about. It's a pretty cookie-cutter, by-the-numbers American Jackie Chan movie. The presence of Chris Tucker and all the culture-clash comedy the name Rush Hour implies was there, but it was pretty weak tea.
Next was The Borune Ultimatum. We hadn't seen any of the previous Borune movies, but this one was easy enough to follow. A well made spy paranoia action thriller, more realistic than a Bond film but it's still an action movie not a rumination on the nature of spying like Syriana. It makes me want to see the earlier Bournes.
Finally was Knocked Up, which was the one we really came for, and it was worth waiting for. I don't know if anyone out there is really looking for me to review a movie that is just barely still in theaters, so I'll just say it made me laugh and I recommend it.
