Ariel Union

Every "jumping on" point is also a "jumping off" point

If you pay attention to the comic book news, I'm sure you've heard of DC Comics's plan to cancel all of their current titles and start over again in September with 52 new series all starting at #1 in a rebooted universe, with "day and date" digital versions too (and if you haven't, here's some good commentary about it).

So I'm going to chime in with some talk about how this affects me (because it's all about me, right?).  Here's the list of the six monthly DC Comics I am buying now:

Birds of Prey
Booster Gold
Secret Six
Wonder Woman

Out of those six, four (Booster Gold. Secret Six, Xombi & Zatanna) are not being relaunched, so I don't have to worry about them I guess.  I was only getting Birds of Prey for Gail Simone's writing, and I'm not familiar with the new writer, so it's off my list. And for Wonder Woman, I have heard good things about new writer Brian Azzarello, so I guess I'll give it a chance.

So, five out of six are gone!  DC Comics doesn't mind, because they totally expect me to pick up some new, kewl titles!  I know I'm going to get Batwoman, but... I don't know about anything else.  I'm interested in Animal Man, Justice League Dark, Voodoo, Suicide Squad, Action Comics, maybe a few more, but none enought to commit to them sight unseen.

So, good luck, DC!  Looks like you're going to need it....
