Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Beth and I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides back when it first came out.  It's entertaining and all, but it likes to pile stuff on way too high.  Take Blackbeard, for instance: he's got this magic sword that lets him control his ship with his mind, and that's pretty cool.  AND his officers are undead zombies, which is OK, I guess.  AND his quartermaster is a voodoo master AND he can see the future.  Really?  Isn't that a bit much?

Also, were we supposed to care about the romance between the captive mermaid and the missionary?  Cause I didn't -- it was just one more plot complication...

Also, we saw it in 2D. I wasn't really sure why I had no desire to see it in 3D, but I didn't.  Then I saw this article, and I think it nails it -- the first three movies were not in 3D, so why would I want to see #4 in 3D?
