I Am Legend

This holiday season is keeping me busy. Not only have I not had time to blog, but I was so distracted yesterday morning that I put my boxers on backwards! I had to live with that all day...

On Saturday, we saw I Am Legend with Scott & Jene. It wasn't bad. The first part of the movie, with Will Smith as the only human alive in a deserted New York, is great. It's a fascinating portrait of a man in solitude fighting insanity (and vampires). A lot of critics are saying it all falls apart at the end in the big fight with the "dark seekers", but I don't think I'd go that far -- I found the fight well done and not too derivative. It . But I am very conflicted about the end of the movie. I'm not sure if it's hopeful, or too much of a manufactured happy ending, or irrelevant, or what. I mainly felt sad despite the very end's attempt to end on a bright note...
