Hot Fuzz

Tonight, Beth and I went to see Hot Fuzz on a whim (and at a dollar theater). I'm glad we caught it before it went away, cause it was great. At first, it's just a cute fish-out-of-water comedy about a big city cop sent down to a small village, nothing groundbreaking, the kind of movie the British do all the time. But by the time the big kick-ass finale action comes around, the movie has become an over-the-top police buddy flick except everything is ridiculous too and it's just brilliant. And who knows when it transformed, it just did it like it's the most natural thing in the world.

Did that even make any sense? I guess what I'm saying is -- go see it. Even if the trailers don't impress you, or it doesn't sound like your cuppa -- it will surprise you.
