Come one, come all!

In other recent good news, the wife and I will be going to Arielcon Pacifica 2005 at Disneyland in just a few short weeks! I was going to do a whole post explaining all about Arielcon and what it is and how you can attend, and I still will in the next few days. But first, I have this breaking news:

Dear Arielholics,

The music, fun, and excitement under the sea resurfaces at the El Capitan Theatre. Come enjoy Disney’s 28th animated masterpiece,

The Little Mermaid
Friday October 14, 2005 at 8:00 AM
The El Capitan Theatre
In Hollywood

Awash with breathtaking animation, unforgettably colorful characters, and two Academy Awards® for score and song, "Under The Sea," THE LITTLE MERMAID is one of Disney's most cherished films. Ariel, the fun-loving and mischievous mermaid, is enchanted with all things human. Disregarding her father's order to stay away from the world above the sea, she swims to the surface and, in a raging storm, rescues the prince of her dreams. Determined to be human, she strikes a bargain with the devious seawitch, Ursula, and trades her fins and beautiful voice for legs. With her best friend, the adorable and chatty Flounder, and her reluctant chaperone Sebastian, the hilarious, reggae-singing Caribbean crab, at her side, Ariel must win the prince's love and save her father's kingdom -- all in a heart-pounding race against time!

Ticket Price: $20
Includes The Little Mermaid movie ticket and
a Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store Ice Cream Sundae!
Don’t be a poor unfortunate soul….see it on the big screen! For tickets please call (818) 567-5441 today.

Yes, this movie screening is open to anyone who will be in the Los Angeles-area on Friday October 14. You do not have to be attending Arielcon (which is good, because I still haven't told you what it is). It's very early, but it will be a blast! And invite everyone you know, because they need at least 75 people to break even.

Unfortunately, we will not be there because we won't roll into town until Friday night...

Wow. I didn't even know they had an Arielcon. Does that mean they have cons for all the other popular Disney characters, ala Bellecon, Jasminecon, Pocahontascon?? Or is Ariel sort of special in that more people are drawn to her in particular?

Well, I will be writing much more about Arielcon very soon, but it is just a little fan gathering, not officially sanctioned by Disney. So it's not part of a series of Disney princess conventions (Auroracon? Mulancon?). As far as I know, none of those exist. I guess us Arielholics are just better organized!

However, I have heard that two other Arielcon-like 'fan gatherings at Disneyland-or-World' do happen. Specifically, for "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and Figment (the purple dragon who is the mascot of Epcot).

And of course, "Gargoyles" fans have an annual 3-day convention in places besides Disneyland: http://gathering.gargoyles-fans.org/
