More Archie Brands

This is getting its own journal soon (see here for more info), but I thought I'd sneak one more in...

List of companies, brands, organizations, entertainments, fictional characters, celebrities, etc. in the Archie Universe(s)

Laugh Digest Magazine #163 (February 2001)

 Companies & Brands

Blooming Dales – A clothing store in Greendale.  The name is a parody of Bloomingdales, but it doesn’t seem to be a department store.  (R)

Classy Cola – A cola produced by Lodge Enterprises.  It’s “new” at Lodge (but it is unclear if this is a new product developed by Lodge, or an existing brand they recently acquired).  (R)

Gyp, The – A store in Greendale (only the sign is seen, so I don't know what kind of store).  The name is probably a parody of The Gap.  (R)

Entertainments and Fictional Characters

Music TV – A cable channel devoted to teens and popular music.  Based on MTV (they weren’t even really trying on this one).  (R)

“Nasty Gal #5” – A song (or album, it is not clear) from Blondonna. (R)

Principal’s Monthly -- A magazine for school administrators.

What’s Brewin’ -- A cookbook for witches, written by Della.  Sold in the Other Realm.

Celebrities

Blondonna – Singer known for her outrageous personal life.  One of her songs is “Nasty Gal #5”. Based on Madonna.  (R)

Crispy, Agatha – Mystery writer.  Just mentioned, not seen.  The name is a parody of Agatha Christie.  (R)

Kline, Kelvin – Fashon designer.  Based on Calvin Klein.  (R)

Plague City Boys – Musical group.  Just mentioned, not seen.  The name is a parody of the Beastie Boys, I think.  (R)

Spires, Brandy – Singer.  Just mentioned, not seen.  The name is a parody of Britney Spears.

Squillane, Mickey – Mystery writer.  Just mentioned, not seen.  The name is a parody of Mickey Spillane.  (R)
