Happy Groundhog Day!

Happy Groundhog Day everybody!  This Groundhog Day is especially happy, since Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow today, meaning spring will come early.  Altho I'm not sure if that applies here in Colorado, thousands of miles away from Punxsutawney PA.

To celebrate, here's a picture of another famous groundhog...

Yes, it's Pardon-Me-Pete, the groundhog from the 1979 TV special Jack Frost.  Nowadays Jack Frost is shown with the Christmas specials (because it's wintery, I guess) but I remember its first airing, and it was indeed shown on Groundhog Day (or a few days before)...

Here's another groundhog.  I don't know if he's famous, but he hangs out with cheerleaders...

Actually, I don't think that's a groundhog at all.  I think those nefarious Texans have slipped in a prairie dog...

If Texans don't quite get Groundhog Day, you can bet the French are really confused.  Click here to see their take on it (NSFW)...

Whee! Jack Frost was my favorite Rankin/Bass holiday special. They don't really show it as often anymore, but I was lucky enough to find the DVD for five bucks a year or two ago (score!).

I didn't know it was on DVD. Now I need to search for that...

I LOVED that movie Jack Frost. I remember seeing it after Xmas, too.
